The practice recognises that all children have a right to protection from abuse and neglect and the Practice accepts its responsibility to safeguard the welfare of all children with whom staff may come into contact.

Adults can suffer from abuse in many different ways as well. Some groups such as the elderly and frail, are at particular risk of abuse and harm. Safeguarding adults is about protecting those at risk of harm (vulnerable adults) from suffering abuse or neglect.
