HOW TO REGISTER

Register with the Practice

** Spring Street Surgery regrets that it is not at present able to register NHS patients **

You will need to come to the Practice Reception and complete a new patient questionnaire and registration form. If you have your NHS card, please bring this with you.

Under our GP contract, patients are registered with the practice as a whole and not with a named doctor. However, for better continuity of care and a more personal service, the practice continues to operate personal lists, with each patient seeing their own GP. You do have the right to express a preference as to which GP you would like to see and this should be stipulated on the patient registration form. Drs Suntharalingam and Gunasekera work as a job share and patients should be prepared to see either GP. Similarly, Dr Rusk looks after Dr Orton’s patients on Thursdays; Dr Mohan covers Dr Holbrook’s patients on Tuesdays and Fridays. We will endeavour to ensure that you always see your preferred GP, but trust you will appreciate that this will not always be possible.

Our female GPs are happy to see any patients of Dr Orton or Dr Holbrook who would rather see a female doctor for a particular problem, usually as a one-off consultation. Similarly, any male patients registered with Drs Suntharalingam and Gunasekera who would rather see a male doctor for a particular problem can request this.
