Our receptionists are available to answer your calls at the reception desk between 8:30am and 6:00pm (Monday to Friday). There can be delays when the phones are busy. Please be patient and do not abandon your call.
When requesting an appointment, the receptionists may ask you for a few details. They have been trained to do this so that we can offer you the most appropriate help.
Calls to the practice from 8-8:30am and 6-6:30pm are handled by Care UK, but medical emergencies are passed to the on-duty GP for the Health Centre.
The practice doors are open from 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday but are closed at weekends and Bank Holidays.
Surgeries are held every morning from 8:20am to 11:00am and every afternoon from 3:20pm to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. All consultations are by appointment via reception. You will be seen as soon as possible, but please do say if your problem is urgent. Check the doctors’ availability.
The practice also offers an additional surgery from 6.30pm to 8.20pm, once a week on an alternating Monday and Thursday evening. A GP from the practice and a Nurse or Health Care Assistant will be available for pre-bookable appointments only, i.e. not for urgent, on the day problems.
These are for patients who are too ill or infirm to attend the surgery. Please telephone between 8:30am and 10:30am where possible. Children with a fever or a rash can often be seen in surgery. Please let the receptionist have full details so that the best arrangements can be made. The doctor may telephone you to assess the problem before making the visit.
We offer pre-bookable appointments with a GP, nurse or Health Care Assistant between 6.30 pm and 8.10 pm, once a week on a Monday or Thursday at Spring Street Surgery. These extended hours surgeries are for pre-bookable appointments only.
Our patients can also access a GP appointment local GP practice hub for evening or weekend appointments or via LIVI an online service available in this area
